On her deathbed, Seraphina Lovell knelt before the Wolf King statue for three days, begging the ancestral Wolf King Kane to protect her family for five years—and to marry her granddaughter Evelyn in a contract union. Kane agreed.
For five years, Kane silently resolved every business crisis, handled all the estate chores, and cared for Evelyn's every need. Yet Evelyn and her parents saw him only as a useless freeloader, humiliating him publicly. Evelyn grew close to Felomon, heir of the Lycaon family, even tolerating his advances.
When the five years ended, Kane divorced Evelyn, left with nothing, and vanished—canceling his phone number. Only after impulsively signing the papers did Evelyn begin to regret it. The estate fell into chaos. The Lycaons terminated all partnerships; banks cut loans; customs seized raw materials. The Lovells faced bankruptcy.
From her friend Sylvia and Felomon, Evelyn learned the truth: Kane was the legendary painter Mr. Blake, a man of immense status—and every business success she'd had was his quiet doing. Kane appeared at an art exhibition, crashing Lovell's stock and erasing billions in value, then ordered all partnerships severed—teaching the arrogant Evelyn a harsh lesson.
Evelyn finally understood and apologized sincerely. Kane forgave her and offered to save the family—but she refused, determined to rebuild on her own. Kane returned to the northern forest to paint, agreeing to meet again in five years—to witness her growth.
