Chloe, the true heiress abandoned by the Sterling family and sent to a brutal mental asylum where she was tortured and disabled—losing her left arm in the torment—is forced by her family after discharge to marry Liam, the "brain-damaged" fool of the Wall Street Sinclair family, in place of the scheming fake heiress Mia. In reality, Liam is a brilliant genius playing the fool to protect himself in the family inheritance battle. Through their high-society marriage, the two join forces, tear apart the fake heiress’s disguise, expose Mia’s true identity, and bring her plot to murder their grandparents to light. When the whole family learns the truth and collapses in desperate pleas, Chloe completely gives up any hope for warmth from her former family and starts a happy life with Liam.
