Serena was born into a noble werewolf family. When she awakened at eighteen, it was prophesied that she would give birth to a child who would change the fate of the werewolf race, and everyone believed she was the best candidate to become the Werewolf Queen. But at the engagement ceremony, her fated Alpha mate, Sterling, publicly humiliated her and took the hand of a maid beside him. Serena turned and left, her Moon Goddess bloodline fully awakening. She chose Jax—Sterling’s younger brother, a seemingly idle playboy of the werewolf clan—and made an engagement with him, announcing that their wedding would be held in one month. At that time, Sterling still thought Serena could not get over him, and he and Lexi repeatedly verbally humiliated her. Yet on Serena’s wedding day, he was unexpectedly humiliated. In the end, Jax became the new Werewolf King, and Sterling was left with endless regret.
