Alicia, the werewolf noblewoman, made an edelweiss pact with Julian: for every betrayal, one edelweiss would burn; once all one hundred were burned, she would leave. Two years later, only six edelweiss remained. She burned all one hundred and emerged from the ruins of her marriage. Damian, the werewolf king of the North, rescued her—his destined one. When Julian was devastated to discover the divorce was confirmed, Alicia had already listed her transgressions at the wedding. After a chaotic battle with the wolf hunters, she accepted Damian's ring amidst the ruins. Edelweiss swayed atop the snow-capped mountains.
