Selena, heiress to the Lane family fortune, is disfigured and left with amnesia after a plot orchestrated by her father, stepsister Vivian, and fiancé Brian—all to seize the massive inheritance left by her mother. On her wedding day, she uncovers the conspiracy; a blow to the head restores her memory, prompting her to cause a scene and publicly announce she is looking for a new husband. Helion, the Mafia godfather of the Moretti family, is forced by his grandmother to marry her while posing as a "poor chauffeur." After the wedding, Selena works to restore her appearance and plot the recovery of her family's assets, while Helion gradually falls for her—eventually realizing she is the childhood savior he has spent years searching for. Together, Selena and Helion send the perpetrators to prison, finding both professional success and true love in their journey toward one another.
