In New Star City—a cybermetropolis dazzling with neon lights yet rife with danger—Luna, the daughter of the Vance Group, married Ryan,
the heir to the Prometheus Group. She believed she had married for love, until three years later, when a hacker named “Vicks” sent her
a set of photos—showing Ryan embracing a woman and a child, smiling with a happiness and authenticity she had never seen before. It turned out that before their marriage,
Raine had cloned his late ex-girlfriend, Ella, and—without her knowledge—rebuilt a complete family. From start to finish, this marriage had been nothing more than a
business arrangement.
The truth shattered all of Luna’s beliefs. She filed for divorce, only to discover she had long been locked in a cage—all of the Vance Group’s
technical patents contained backdoor access pre-programmed by the Ryan family, and a divorce would mean her father’s company would be dragged into a debt abyss of 130
billion Nova Coins. Ryan trapped her with the family business, controlled her with prosthetic access rights, and used the programmed phrase “I love you”
, pulling her back to where she started time and again. Luna had woken up from a neural overload in an emergency pod, had retreated from the edge of a rooftop, and had
leapt from a high-altitude flying car—yet every struggle only brought her deeper despair.
Until the underground doctor Jack taught her to hold a welder steady, and the silent “Vicks” passed her every key from the shadows—the hacker who illuminated her path
darkest hours—turned out to be Victor, Ryan’s own younger brother. When Ryan used a “touching
story of letting go” to coerce Luna into playing along at a citywide press conference, she slipped into an olive-green evening gown, stood in the spotlight, and tore all the lies to shreds with her own hands.
At that moment, Jack finally revealed his true identity—heir to the Lunar Silverglow family, a figure far more powerful than Prometheus
itself. He paid off all of Luna’s debts, stripped the Ryan family of all their power, and elevated Victor to the position of heir.
Luna boarded the near-Earth orbit elevator bound for the moon with her parents. Beneath the dome of the Silver Glow family headquarters, she gazed out the window at
Earth and the starry sky, gripping her welder firmly. This city had once tried to devour her, but now, standing above the abyss, she had rekindled her own
starlight.
