Maren Whitmore, heir and founder, chairman, and controlling shareholder of Aster Health, kept a low profile during her marriage to Stellan Caldwell while rescuing Caldwell Group through personal guarantees, technology licensing, and funding. Stellan took credit and assumed she would never leave. On their anniversary, Maren discovered Vanessa’s HIV retest and her boundary-crossing with Stellan. Vanessa staged an assault and forged evidence to frame Maren; Stellan signed divorce and property agreements unread to save Vanessa. After Vanessa drugged Stellan with a kiss, Maren found them in bed, ended the marriage, and withdrew her guarantees. Stellan mistook her departure for jealousy. At a charity auction, he pledged shares for the world’s only HIV experimental drug, which Vanessa smashed. Fake reports, Maren’s Aster identity, and a $2 billion NovaCure fraud exploded. Stellan was diagnosed HIV-positive, his group bankrupt and unable to afford treatment—finally realizing his loss as Vanessa faced ruin.
