Decoy Affair

This is a modern urban romance story about female empowerment, a carefully orchestrated revenge plot, and rebirth. The heroine, Eleanor Whitmore, is the sole heir to the century-old Whitmore Winery in California’s Napa Valley. Gentle and virtuous, she gave up her legal career for the sake of her family and devoted herself entirely to supporting her husband, Julian Voss, in his real estate development company. Eleanor unexpectedly discovers that her husband, Julian, is having an affair with Sophia, the young and beautiful nanny in their home. Despite her shock, she chooses not to confront him directly but instead displays remarkable composure and strategic thinking. She approaches her step-sister Scarlett Hart—with whom she has always been at odds—and proposes a bold plan: the two will collaborate, with Scarlett seducing Julian to obtain more conclusive and damning evidence of his infidelity, so they can work together to strip Julian of his assets and send him away with nothing. Driven by her desire for money and status, Scarlett agreed to the partnership. The two, once bitter rivals, transformed into a “revenge alliance”—calm on the surface but secretly working together. Leveraging her youth and beauty, along with carefully orchestrated “chance encounters,” Scarlett successfully captured Julian’s attention and gradually lured him into her trap. Meanwhile, Eleanor contacted her college classmate, Ashford Sterling—a top-tier attorney from a prominent East Coast legal family—and began a secret investigation into evidence of Julian’s long-standing embezzlement of their marital assets. At the annual charity wine auction in Napa Valley, Eleanor chose the moment when all eyes were on her to publicly reveal “evidence of an affair” between Julian and Scarlett—but this time, the “other woman” was none other than Julian’s own stepsister. Public outrage ensued, and Julian’s reputation was utterly ruined. In the end, Eleanor not only won the divorce case but also, by joining forces with other shareholders, successfully ousted Julian from the company he had founded. She then merged the winery with the real estate group to form the “Whitmore Legacy Group.” Meanwhile, Scarlett’s true ambitions were exposed during their collaboration; Eleanor, having long been on guard, ultimately ensured that Scarlett’s efforts came to nothing. In the story’s conclusion, Eleanor completely shook off the shadow of her failed marriage, stood tall as an independent woman, and, alongside Ashford—who had always quietly supported her—embarked on a new chapter in her life.
